Leicester have loan deal for Man Utd's Kuszczak turned down

Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak has reportedly turned down a loan offer from English Championship club Leicester City.

Ambitious Foxes boss Sven-Goran Eriksson placed an enquiry to take the Poland international for the remainder of the season but he politely declined, preferring to push for first team selection at Old Trafford.

"Tomasz doesn't want to come to us," Eriksson said. "But the goalkeeper we have, Chris Weale, is doing very well for us so I am confident in him."

Eriksson said that the club would only pursue top quality keepers after Chris Kirkland returned to Wigan Athletic after his short-term spell at Walkers Stadium.

"We are not going out to buy just a goalkeeper. It must be an absolute top keeper or we will stay with what we have. I am only interested if he is a top, top keeper," he added.

"I think the last few games Chris has played he has been brilliant for us."
