Leicester City ace Jamie Vardy was delighted with his hat-trick in victory over Manchester City.
The defending champions' slide down the table was halted by an impressive 4-2 defeat of Pep Guardiola's men - Andy King got one goal while Vardy ended his barren spell with a hat-trick.
And the England international told BT Sport afterwards: "We just wanted to make sure we were competitive today. I think we've done that."
Vardy was one of several first-team regulars rested by boss Claudio Ranieri for the Champions League match in Porto, which ended in a 5-0 defeat.
And the striker added: "Everyone we left at home would rather have travelled but we're all in it together.
"Now we're looking forward to getting back on the training pitch."
King said: "Today was about getting back to basics and doing what we do best, getting in people's faces and playing at a high tempo. Doing it against such a good team is really good.
"We know we've been better than we've shown in the last couple of weeks but it's about getting back to doing things right."
