Ben Chilwell has earned the praise of England manager Gareth Southgate after earning his first international cap.
The Leicester City left-back, 21, replaced Danny Rose in the second-half of Tuesday's 1-0 win over Switzerland.
"I liked what he had done at the end of last season and the beginning of this season," said Southgate.
"We looked at bringing him into one of the camps just before the World Cup, just to train with us, but we weren't able to do that.
"I think he is progressing really well and it is great that he has established himself in the team here now.
"He is going to really push for competition down that left side."
