Leicester City know they face a battle to keep Harry Maguire away from Manchester United.
The Mirror says United may open the bidding for the ball-playing centre-back who joined Leicester a year ago after a bargain £17million switch from relegated Hull.
But Leicester's rich Thai owners have previously fought hard to keep their stars and will do so again as they have no financial pressure to sell.
Previously they have dug their heels in to keep Jamie Vardy and Kasper Schmeichel.
While they refused to sell Riyad Mahrez for three windows until finally cashing in on him this summer.
He has four years left on his contract and can expect a lucrative pay-rise to make him one of the club's top earners on over £100,000-a-week if he stays.
