Leicester defender Maguire labels England call-up as career pinnacle

Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire has admitted making England's squad for the World Cup is the pinnacle of his career.

The 25-year-old has had a fantastic debut season with the Foxes after moving from Hull City last summer.

"If someone said to me at the start of the season you will play every game, get player of the year and play for England as well, I would have thought I was dreaming," said Maguire last week.

"It has been a great season for me personally.

"To play every minute of every game, it has been a great first season with Leicester and to get the player of the season award as well has topped it off.

"I am really pleased with how it has gone and we want to kick on as a team next season.

"It is the biggest tournament in the world, the World Cup, and as a young boy you dream about playing for your country at the World Cup. It is the pinnacle of anyone's career."
