Leicester City are closing on deals for Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu and Dinamo Zagreb's Filip Benkovic.

The Mirror says the Foxes are closing in on deals to sign two centre-backs, ensuring they have sufficient cover if Manchester United come in for Harry Maguire.

Croatia Under-21 international Benkovic had his medical on Monday ahead of a £13.5m move from Dinamo Zagreb.

And the Foxes were on the verge of striking a deal worth £22.5m including add-ons for Freiburg's Turkish prospect Soyuncu.

The 22-year-old was linked with a move to Arsenal earlier this summer but at the time they were put off by his German club's £35m valuation.

Leicester are prepared to keep Maguire even if both deals get over the line.
