Leicester City set to make sensational play for ex-Villa boss O'Neill

Championship club Leicester City are being linked with a sensational move for former cups-winning boss Martin O'Neill.

The 58-year old Northern Irishman, who quit his post at Aston Villa on the eve of the new season, led the Foxes to the 1997 and 2000 League Cups before moving to Celtic and now the club is keen on his return.

With current boss Paulo Sousa experiencing difficulty at Walkers Park, Leicester's ambitious Thai owners are considering a move to bring O'Neill back.

Sousa is believed to have just two games to save his career after the 6-1 defeat to Portsmouth on Friday consigned his side to the bottom of the table.
