Leicester chiefs determined to keep Shakespeare squad together

Leicester City chiefs are ready to keep hold of their stars.

The Mirror says Leicester are preparing to dig their heels into battle for their stars as they are reluctant to do late deals.

The 2015-2016 Premier League champions have several players being chased for transfers.

Riyad Mahrez wants to speak to Serie A side Roma, Danny Drinkwater is wanted by Chelsea and last season's champs also like Jamie Vardy.

City's unsettled England U21 winger Demarai Gray is also wanted by Bournemouth who are offering the £25,000-a-week starlet a big pay-rise.

But there are just eight days remaining until the window closes next Thursday night.

City's director of football Jon Rudkin, who was widely criticised over last season's poor transfer deals, is wary of being left with little time to bring in replacements.
