Leicester boss to remain coy over transfer targets

Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is hoping to strengthen his Championship squad over the summer but will not be drawn on any targets. While Pearson appreciates that interest in the club's transfer activity will naturally be high, he is determined to operate in what he believes to be the correct manner throughout the close-season.

"There will always be transfer speculation at this time of year. A lot of it is generated by agents looking to create demand for their players, but we won't be drawn into it," Pearson told the club's official website.

"Most people will know how I like to work by now. We want to strengthen the squad but we will go about it in the correct manner and that will not involve commenting on individual names of players we have been linked with.

"I'm sure our fans will be interested to know how the squad is shaping up and we have, of course, identified targets for next season. But it would be inappropriate to comment on any of them until they are officially Leicester City players. Once there is something to report, we will communicate it in the right way."
