Leicester boss Puel opens door for Musa stay

Leicester City manager Claude Puel claims he has made no definitive decision about the future of Ahmed Musa.

The 16-million-pound winger, who signed from CSKA Moscow last season, has only featured for Leicester one time this season.

Musa has been relegated to a role with the club's under-23 team, which is not what fans were hoping to see when he was brought in last summer.

Now Puel is left with a decision about whether to try again with Musa, or to cut his losses and move the player on in the January transfer window.

"I think it is not the moment to speak about the future or whether he can bring something to the squad, or whether he can leave in January," said Puel.

"I don't know. For me he is a good player with quality. He is not a striker, he is a winger left or right.

"He can take space with good penetration. He is balanced with the other forwards.

"We have a lot of players in the same position and sometimes it is tough and difficult for them and the staff to make a choice and give them more game time, like Musa.

"In training, he always gives a positive attitude and works hard. This is very important for him and the squad.

"We will see. All the situation with the player and the club in January. For the moment it is the status quo."
