Leicester boss Puel hails Vardy leadership

Leicester City boss Claude Puel has hailed the leadership of Jamie Vardy.

Vardy, who has 10 goals in his last 13 games, got the nod as regular captain Wes Morgan was benched and Kasper Schmeichel crocked.

Now Vardy, 31, could keep the armband when the Foxes visit Crystal Palace on tomorrow in the Premier League.

Puel said: “I think different players can make captain depending on the game.

“When Wes isn't on the pitch it will be Kasper and other times Jamie.

“It was Jamie for the first time and he was happy before the game to be captain. I think it is important for me because he is a good captain.

“He showed his energy and his quality. He can score and give a good feeling and good way to his team-mates.

“He can be a good captain also when Wes or Kasper are not here."
