Leicester City boss Claude Puel has explained going with Matty James for his Premier League squad this season.

Puel has defended his decision to choose injured midfielder James ahead of Andy King in his Premier League squad.

“For the moment he is resting after surgery and we will see step by step when he can come back with us," said Puel.

“He needs patience and we have patience because he comes back with us with a smile.

“Yes, but we cannot… at the beginning of the season we didn't have all the information to decide other things. I tried to take the best solution possible. No regrets about this."
