Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has ruled out a playing return for Emile Heskey.
Former England striker Heskey, 36, returned to his hometown club this week in an ambassadorial role.
But manager Pearson has ruled out the prospect of the free agent having another playing spell at the club.
He said: "He has returned as an ambassador - that is the top and bottom of it, Let's be honest.
"It is positive for him to be back associated with the club, but it is reading too much into it to suggest he would improve what we have got at the moment. It is good for the club to have somebody of Emile's standing and stature being associated with the club."
