Leicester boss Pearson: Schwarzer attitude just remarkable

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson is delighted with the impact made by new signing Mark Schwarzer.

Schwarzer is set to be handed his full debut today after joining City on a free transfer from Chelsea.

"He's been fantastic," Pearson told the Leicester Mercury. "For someone to be as focused and driven as he is at his tender age is quite remarkable.

"Players either finish because they are physically unable to go further or players lose the motivation to continue to play at the top.

"For him to have continued to perform at the highest level is a credit to him as a person.

"But having seen him in training, he is excellent.

"Hopefully he can carry on for one more year after this as that's how long he is here for. I don't think of him as a former team-mate. It was so long ago. He could probably tell you stories I wouldn't be able to remember!

"A lot happened since then but I certainly enjoyed my time alongside him, he made a big impression on me then in terms of his abilities.

"As a character, he has always been well-spoken and can be out-spoken. He has high standards which I like. It's the whole package."
