Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson insists Kasper Schmeichel is his own man.

The Dane has been constantly compared to famous dad, Manchester United star Peter, but Pearson believes that is unfair.

Pearson said: "Kasper's forever having to deal with comparisons with his father which you understand but he's a player in his own right.

"I bring it up only because it's a natural thing for people to ask. He deals with that side of who he is particularly well.

"I judge him on how he is as an individual - full stop. Not based on anything else. It's inevitable there will be comparisons but he's dealing with the situation very well this season."
