Leicester boss Pearson insists Man City can be beaten

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson insists they're not intimidated by Capital One Cup opponents Manchester City.

City travel to the Championship side in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup on the back of Saturday's sensational 6-3 win over Arsenal.

Pearson said: "Can we beat them? Why not?

"We shouldn't have fear playing against them. You clearly have to respect the fact we go into this game not being favourites. As Man City beat the league leaders at the weekend, a number of people think it is a foregone conclusion, but we have to make it a proper cup tie.

"In cup ties anything can happen. Whatever team they start, they will be very strong.

"They have such a depth in the squad and they're a free-scoring team, but we have players who may surprise a few people as well. I don't know what side they will put out, but it will have lots of quality in it. So what?

"We have to go into the game with a positive mindset and make sure our game is as good as it can be."
