Leicester boss not written off loan players

Leicester boss Sven Goran Eriksson has assured loanees Matt Oakley and Tom Kennedy that they still have a future with the Foxes. Midfielder Oakley is with League One club Exeter until the end of October while defender Kennedy is on loan with Peterborough.

Eriksson told the Leicester Mercury: "I am happy for them.

"They have not played in the first team since the start of the season so this is important for them. They need to play football. They are still our players so it is important they play.

"Yes, they still feature in the plans. I am sure Matt Oakley would go into the team tomorrow, as a right-back or midfielder, and do a good job. He is one of our fittest players. If you did a running test now he would win it.

"He needs to play football. It is not good for him to be training every day and not even sitting on the bench. It will be very good for him now."
