Leicester boss happy to see Foxes take scoring burden off Vardy, Mahrez

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri was delighted to see his players help out with scoring burden that has been resting on the shoulders of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez recently.

Marcin Wasilewski and Shinji Okazaki scored in the 2-2 FA Cup draw with Tottenham on the weekend and then defender Robert Huth scored a powerful header to give his side a 1-0 win against the same opposition in the Premier League encounter on Wednesday night.

"Vardy and Mahrez for us are very important and when you score without them you say 'good'," said a grateful Ranieri.

"We drew the match in the cup with Marcin Wasilewski and Shinji Okazaki (scoring) and then tonight with Robert Huth - it is good.

"We created a lot of chances and not only with Mahrez or Vardy but a lot of players can make goals and that is important for the team.

"We scored a goal and Kasper (Schmeichel) made a fantastic save - third match in a row, clean sheet, I'm very, very glad."
