Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson says Jeffrey Schlupp's emergence is proof enough they are not abandoning their academy.
The 18-year-old could get another chance to play in the Championship at Cardiff today after impressing in Wednesday night's Carling Cup clash between the two clubs.
Eriksson said: "He's an example that this club is not just spending money. He came to us when he was 11, so it is good work from the Academy and the youth team which is what we want to do.
"I have a decision to make on whether he can start at Cardiff but he will travel again with us, that is for sure.
"He has great pace, he is strong and is a goalscorer and his first touch is very good so if everything goes right I think he will have a good future."
