Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has ruled out spending big until they reach the Premier League.
The Swede intends to be prudent in the transfer market until Leicester hopefully achieve promotion.
"If we get to the Premier League then it is completely different," said Eriksson, who has signed a three-year contract.
"If I can find players and take them here I will do it at once."
City are 21st in the Championship after a draw, one win and a defeat under Eriksson.
They were also dumped out of the Carling Cup in midweek at home by West Brom's reserve side who won 4-1.
But Eriksson insists: "I want to be managing in the Premier League.
"When promoted if you want to stay you have to spend.
"You don't need to spend like Manchester City.
"West Brom haven't spent much. They have done it very well."
