Leicester boss Eriksson: Promotion our number one goal

Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has identified the club's major goal as gaining promotion back to the Premier League.

The Foxes have been busy in the transfer market, bringing in the likes of Michael Johnson, John Pantsil, Paul Konchesky, Matt Mills, David Nugent, Sean St Ledger and Neil Danns, and Eriksson has made it clear that promotion along with winning the Championship title is high on the agenda at Walkers Stadium.

"They want to take Leicester City up to the Premier League and they want to stay there, to start with. For me, that is a big, big challenge so that is why I am sitting here," he told Sky Sports News.

"I am sure we have a better team this season than we had last season. Last season was not brilliant, but it was far away from a disaster.

"We have a lot of good football players. We have a big squad. So I am very positive. We all know what it is about. We want to be promoted and that is it."
