Leicester boss Eriksson: Man Utd keeper Kuszczak turned us down

Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has revealed he tried for Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

The Pole has rejected a move to Walkers stadium in recent days.

"Tomasz doesn't want to come to us," said Eriksson.

However, Eriksson retains faith in his current keeper Chris Weale and would only bring in a 'top' replacement for his present first choice.

Eriksson added "I am only interested if he is a top, top keeper. The goalkeeper we have, Chris Weale, is doing very well for us so I am rather confident in him.

"We are not going out to buy just a goalkeeper. It must be an absolute top keeper or we will stay with what we have.

"I think the last few games Chris has played he has been brilliant for us."
