Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson says Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard must go to the European Championships with England.
Gerrard, one of Sven's talismanic figures during his time in charge, was overlooked for the current squad after a long-term groin problem.
But Eriksson insists Liverpool's skipper must go to Poland and the Ukraine next summer, even if his fitness is a doubt.
He told The Sun: "He's one of those players you take a chance with, like Rooney. If they are available, they are heavyweights.
"Is he 31 already? Time flies. He must still go."
