Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has cooled talk of a player-coaching offer for LA Galaxy star David Beckham.
The Manchester United legend has been linked with a move to the Foxes when his MLS contract expires in December.
But Eriksson told BBC East Midlands Today: "It's not going to happen. I have not offered him a player-coach role. David knows that we would take him, of course, and if he wants to come he has my number so that's not a problem. But I haven't spoken to him because I get embarrassed by it.
"I don't know what he is going to do, I have no idea. But I doubt that he wants to come to the Championship. If I was in his clothes, I doubt I would do that.
"I don't know if he wants to be a coach, I have no idea. I don't know if he wants to be a coach and I don't know where these stories keep coming from. I think we should also kill that story because it is not true."
