Leicester boss Eriksson distances himself from Blackburn vacancy

Sven-Goran Eriksson will not be replacing Sam Allardyce at Blackburn Rovers as he is happy at Leicester. The former England and Manchester City boss has been linked with a move to Ewood Park following Allardyce's shock exit on Monday.

The 62-year-old came close to joining Blackburn from Sampdoria in 1997, but despite agreeing to the move he ended up staying in Italy with Lazio.

While he is keen to get into England's top-flight, Eriksson wants to get there with Leicester and is eager to help City win back their Premier League place.

"Everyone wants to get into the Premier League, but I think we can do that with Leicester," he told the Leicester Mercury.

"I am happy here and I am not interested in any other jobs.

"I can sign tomorrow for three, four or five years if the owners want.

"But I am sure they want to see what is happening this season and next season - and that's fair. What the owner wants in that time is the Premier League."
