Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri says he never lost confidence in Jamie Vardy after his hat-trick in victory over Manchester City.
Ranieri said he was delighted for Vardy but said he never sensed his striker was becoming tense because of his barren spell in front of goal.
"He played so well," said Ranieri. "It was important for him to go back. Never did he tell me that he needed to score. No, never.
"I know the goalscorer needs to score goals, but I told all my players what was important was the effort that we made for the team.
"I don't know (if he can go on a run). I hope for him because if he scores we get the points.
"Everyone made a fantastic performance and of course players like Jamie, Slimani and Mahrez are something different and when they play in this way it is fantastic to see them."
