Lega Pro President Mario Macalli has dismissed a proposal by Napoli chief Aurelio de Laurentiis for youth teams to enter the football pyramid.

De Laurentiis had suggested that Serie A sides Primavera outfits be allowed to play in the third and fourth divisions in Italy.

"Youth teams in Lega Pro? This is the last thing we will do," he told Radio Kiss Kiss. "It is nonsense.

"If there is this desire from Serie A sides, perhaps they should let their young players play in Serie A."
