Italy Lega president Giancarlo Abete spared no feelings in his assessment of the Azzurri's Confederations Cup elimination by Brazil last night.
Italy were dumped out of the Cup after their 3-0 defeat and Abete barked: "Our play was too ugly to carry us forward. We played with no pace and failed to create chances throughout the tournament.
"It was a deserved defeat (to Brazil), we've been poor throughout this tournament and it is right we're no longer in the Confederations Cup.
"We must value this terrible experience, learn from it and work on bridging the gap with the world's best teams."
