Former Leeds United striker Mirco Antenucci has turned down an approach from Jaap Stam's Reading to join Serie B outfit SPAL.
The 31-year-old, who was Leeds' second highest goalscorer last season, was released by the Whites in May following two seasons with the club.
Antenucci has now signed a two-year deal with SPAL, who were promoted to Serie B last season, rather than link up with former Manchester United defender Stam who recently took the reins at Championship club Reading.
