Danny Webber rejected big-money offers from clubs in China and Qatar to join Leeds United he has revealed.

The 30-year old striker joined the Whites on a short-term deal last week as a free agent after finishing his contract with Portsmouth at the end of last season but has confirmed that he could have quite easily be playing somewhere in Asia for massive money.

"I spoke to a few clubs in China and in Qatar and I went over there to have talks and have a look around the club," Webber told skysports.com.

"I was treated very well by everyone in China and Qatar and the offers were very attractive, but once I knew Leeds were interested in me my mind was made up.

"It is a brilliant opportunity for me to prove people wrong and prove to myself I can still do the business after my injury problems.

"I am confident in my ability and I have never doubted it and I will continue to work had to get to back to playing at the highest level I can."
