Leeds United boss Warnock looking forward to planning ahead with chairman Bates

Neil Warnock is hoping to put across his plans to Leeds United chairman Ken Bates when the pair meet this week.

Manager Warnock, whose side dropped to 14th after today’s 2-0 loss to Derby County, is keen to sort out everything with Bates as he looks to plan for the future at Elland Road.

"We'd always planned to talk after the Derby County game (on Monday) so people shouldn't surmise anything,” he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"We decided to get together at this stage because with four games to go we'll have a clear idea of what needs to be done.

"We need a number of players and I think the average fan who's watched us all season will agree that there's drastic action needed to some extent.

"There are quite a few players out of contract and that's why we're getting together - to discuss everybody, people under contract and people who aren't."

He added: "It (the summer transfer market) can't come quick enough," he said. "We're close to one (signing) and if we can tie that up it'll be a good start."
