Leeds United captain Jonny Howson is surprised Everton chose to sell former teammate Jermaine Beckford to Leicester City.

Beckford bagged 10 goals in his only season at Everton and Howson was surprised to see the forward allowed to leave Goodison Park in the summer.

"He got into double figures so as a striker in your first season in the Premiership that's not a bad return.

"I was a little surprise when they let him go to Leicester but they've signed a few players that maybe raised a few eyebrows."
