Leeds United owners flew in from Dubai to finalise Brian McDermott' appointment yesterday.

McDermott will watch United's Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road tomorrow alongside new No 2 Nigel Gibbs.

Last season the duo guided Reading to the Championship title.

And former Reading manager McDermott will be looking to inspire a late surge at 17th-placed Leeds, who sit just five points above the bottom three after Neil Warnock's exit.
