Leeds United have rejected a £1.25 million offer from Newcastle United for striker Jermaine Beckford.

The Daily Mail says Newcastle are considering a move for Heidar Helguson after having a £1.25million bid for Beckford rejected.

Iceland striker Helguson, 32, is on loan from QPR at Watford.

Beckford, 26, is out of contract at the end of the season but Leeds are determined to keep him.
