Reports are suggesting that Leeds United could make a summer move for Sunderland striker Connor Wickham.
The 20-year old England U21 international could be offloaded by the Black Cats at the end of the season after failing to really make an impact on Wearside after signing from Ipswich Town for £8million in 2011.
Wickham was recently re-called from his second loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday where he scored eight goals in 11 Championship outings but Sunderland boss Gus Poyet is believed to be ready to sell the youngster according to the Mirror.
Wednesday are keen to permanently buy Wickham for around £3m but Leeds boss Brian McDermott is looking for someone to bring in to ease the scoring burden on Ross McCormack.
"Something could happen. It has been intimated to me there is a possibility of bringing someone in," said the Whites boss.
"We have got the resilience in the team - we just need to do that extra bit in the final third that can make the difference."
