Leeds closing in on Bolton defender O'Brien

Leeds United are interested in Bolton Wanderers defender Andy O'Brien.

The Bolton News says the former Republic of Ireland international has 12 months left on his contract at the Reebok and so would demand a fee - it is understood that manager Owen Coyle has given the experienced centre half his blessing to talk to other clubs after failing to give him regular first-team football last season.

Leeds lost out in their chase for Sheffield United stalwart Chris Morgan last week and are in the market for a proven defender.
