Leeds clinch deal for Bolton loanee O'Brien

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has confirmed Leeds have beaten off competition from rivals Cardiff for the signature of on-loan defender Andy O'Brien. The former Republic of Ireland international has left Bolton and agreed a two-and-a-half year contract at Elland Road.

"I met with Andy on Friday and despite a tempting offer from Cardiff, he has agreed to join us on a two-and-half-year deal which we are delighted about," Bates told the club's official website.
