Leeds chairman Bates taunts Norwich over Howson fee

Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has mocked Norwich City over the £2 million sale of Jonny Howson.

The Canaries stumped up the cash for the midfielder, 23, even though he is currently injured and will be a free agent in the summer.

And Elland Road supremo Bates said: "We were astonished when Norwich came in and offered us a figure which, after a bit of bartering, ended up at about £2m. To take the offer was a no-brainer.''
