Leeds United boss Neil Warnock is desperate to keep hold of winger Robert Snodgrass.
Leeds chairman Ken Bates has slapped an £8m price-tag on the head of the 24-year-old Scotland international - who has just 12-months of his existing deal to run. Snodgrass has been linked with Everton and Norwich City, among several top-flight clubs.
"Snoddy is one player I would like to see at the club next season. We can build a team around him and that is what I want to do," said Warnock.
"He is out of contract next summer and I have had talks with his agent about signing a new contract.
"I just want him to give me one full season to try to get the club promoted and if I don't do it, I would be happy to have a clause inserted in any new deal saying he can leave for a set fee."
