Leeds United boss Brian McDermott welcomes Massimo Cellino's takeover.
The Cagliari is waiting for his deal to be rubberstamped by Football League authorities.
"Massimo understands football and he knows exactly what is going on at the club," McDermott told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
"We need an owner in order to be strong and we need a leader.
"I have no doubts about that, we need a change here."
