Leeds United boss Brian McDermott has defended his January market work at Reading.
McDermott's sacking was in part blamed on his lack of success during the winter transfer window.
He told the Daily Mail: "If I had spent £30million of someone's money I might possibly have seen it coming at Reading, but I really didn't. I know the owner (Anton Zingarevich) said I didn't buy any players in January, but we couldn't agree fees for Thomas Ince at Blackpool and Gylfi Sigurdsson at Spurs. We made big offers for them."
