Leeds boss Grayson praises players after Bristol Rovers win

Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has heaped praise on his team after they bounced back from a season-first defeat to brush aside Bristol Rovers 4-0 on Tuesday night.

The Whites were the last team in the country to hold an undefeated record before they lost to Millwall on Saturday and Grayson asked for a big effort from his players at the Memorial Ground on Tuesday and was delighted that he got it.

"It's a brilliant result for us. We asked for a performance and a reaction and we got both," Grayson said.

"This epitomises our work ethic and the fact that we've got an awful lot of quality when we're firing on all cylinders.

"There isn't much for me to complain about - in the performance or the result.

"This was a difficult place to come after losing at Millwall but we coped with everything they threw at us. Collectively, we were excellent.

"I wanted us to crank it up and to get back to the level that we're used to playing at.

"When we got possession of the ball, we played as well as we have done for two or three weeks.

"We've done alright in that spell but there are standards here and the fact is that we want to get to the next level as quickly as we can."

Leeds now hold a four-point lead on top of the League One table and host 12th placed Yeovil Town at Elland Road this Saturday.
