Leeds blow as Snodgrass undergoes appendix operation

Leeds are set to lose Robert Snodgrass for a spell after the midfielder had his appendix removed.

The Scotland international underwent surgery on Thursday and boss Simon Grayson is hoping Snodgrass will return to action sooner rather than later.

"Rob had an operation on Thursday," Grayson told the club's official website.

"It wasn't something that was planned, but we were hoping to keep it quiet until after the teamsheets had been exchanged at (the New Year's Eve clash with) Barnsley in order not to alert our opponents.

"We're not putting any timescale on things, but hopefully he won't be absent for too long a period."
