Leeds' Beckford eyeing Premier League move

Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford is eyeing a move to either a top Championship club or a Premier League club.

The 25-year old recently rejected a new contract at Elland Road and his agent has confirmed that he is looking to join a club in a better division, even if it takes time.

"We have an agreement with Leeds that they'll tell us about any offers," Nick Rubery told setanta.com.

"They've had three official enquiries but I don't think they'll get a firm offer for a good week or two simply because a lot of people are on holiday.

"I can't really talk about specific clubs but, as far as I'm aware, the names that have been mentioned are all interested.

"At the end of the day, someone has to make an offer that fits the club's valuation of a player who has done what he's done - but then they have to balance that with the fact he has 12 months left on his current deal.

"He won't consider anything other than a top-end Championship club or a Premier League club because Leeds are still a huge side.

"If he needs to, he'll stay at Leeds for another year."
