Swansea City are eyeing Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo.

The Mirror says new Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen is in a fight against Swansea to land Negredo.

Dane Christiansen wants to make Negredo his 10th summer signing, and is ready to meet the La Liga side's £6.4million asking price for the former Manchester City striker.

Elland Road's Spanish technical director Victor Orta, who joined Leeds at the end of May after leaving a similar role at Middlesbrough, brokered Negredo's loan deal to the Riverside last July.

Now he wants to persuade Negredo, 31, to turn his back on a switch to the Premier League with the Swans in favour of joining the Yorkshire outfit's push for promotion.
