Robert Lee has urged Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan to drop plans of playing Michael Owen in a deeper role next season.
The former Toon midfielder told the Sunday Sun: "I'm not a lover of him playing behind the front striker, that's not his best role. To see him defending is totally foreign.
"It worked in that Kevin got the three players that he wanted out on the pitch to score goals but whether that's a long-term thing I very much doubt.
"He's a striker and he should be playing as a striker."
