Lee looking to make impact with new club Southampton

Tadanari Lee is excited about getting his career started with Southampton.

The 26-year old Japan international has finally been given permission to join the Championship club from Sanfrecce Hiroshima after having his initial work permit rejection overturned and he is hoping to make an impact at St Mary's Stadium.

"It felt like it was flowing so slowly in Southampton, people are so friendly and team-mates immediately welcomed me," he said.

"The town itself is nice and friendly, I like that. In order to play games, even in training, I must show the manager what I can bring to the team.

"The club is now on the stage where we are all trying to get promotion to the Premier, and I hope my ability can play a part in that.

"As a striker, I must score goals and I will have to meet your expectations. I just want to score a goal as soon as possible.

"My main goal at this point is to be out on the pitch, score a goal and get promoted to the Premiership."
