Lee: Liverpool have bottle to beat Man Utd to title

Liverpool assistant boss Sammy Lee says they have the bottle to overcome Premiership leaders Manchester United.

"We possess the qualities that are needed at this stage of the season," said the three-time Championship winner. "The lads have done very, very well to get themselves back into the fight and now we've got to be patient and rid ourselves of any anxiety.

"Okay, we went through a barren spell and now we're in a rich vein of goalscoring form. We don't get carried away with either success or things not going well. You've just got to carry on working hard on the pitch and the training ground.

"You end up using a lot of clichés but clichés are the sayings that have held true over time. We need to take one game at a time. It's simple - all you can do is look at the next game.

"We now play Fulham in two weeks' time after an international break. We don't know how the players will be when they come back and it's going to be difficult.

"We can't be looking at other teams because when you do that you find you start losing sight of what you need to do.

"We know what we've got to do and we're working tirelessly to make sure we get the maximum out of every game from now until the end of the season.

"We've got a lot of quality and leadership in the team. We know what we want to do and what we can do."
