Lee Cattermole hoping Sunderland 'can add three, four or five new players'

Lee Cattermole has urged Sunderland fans not to panic over their lack of summer business.

The Black Cats are yet to add to a squad that narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League last season - the fourth year running they have had to battle for survival.

“There is no panic for the start of the season," said Cattermole.

“I'm sure the club is working on it.

“It's obvious we need players, the season is too long and demanding to go into the season with the numbers we've got.

“We've got small numbers, but we have a lot of quality within those small numbers and there is already competition for places.

“If we can add three, four or five new players that are competing for places then that would be great."
