Ledley's Palace move has opened up hole for Biton - Celtic's Lennon

Nir Biton has a fantastic opportunity to really cement himself as a key contributor in the Celtic side.

They are the sentiments of manager Neil Lennon who plans to play the Israeli international in the centre of midfield following the winter departure of Joe Ledley who joined Premier League side Crystal Palace.

22-year old Biton, who arrived at Parkhead from homeland club FC Ashdod in the summer, has started five times for a total of 12 Scottish Premiership appearances this season but Lennon is now backing him for more regular outings.

"In Nir's case, there's a great chance for him now," Lennon told the Celtic View.

"We've got a good run of games until the end of the season and we will use him. We're hoping to get five or six matches into him to get him adjusted to the British game.

"He's come in sporadically and done well, but like all young players it takes a bit of time to adapt. But we feel he has the build and the talent for it and we're working on his mental strength now as well."
